I want this to run as smoothly as possible, given that we are cats, and I don't want to step on toes I don't know I'm stepping on.

You are a good brave soul for taking this on. I really don't think there is a right/wrong way of going about it. You'll do just fine at the helm of this sinking ship and come next spring we'll all be together somewhere doing something at some point. It's the way of the F2F.

Oh, and gimme a month of so THEN I'll say you're doing it all wrong.
