Sometimes things work out
Jul. 30th, 2006 12:05 amSo, the place I thought I was going to be moving to is, in fact, not available. I found this out this morning, and was in quite the funk.
Let's skip to the end of the story, where I'm moving in on Monday to a place with a teacher at one of the other schools. That is, she is buying the house, and turning the bottom floor into a self-contained unit. So, I'm sleeping in her office until that's done. It's very rustic. Like, when they built it, they said, "this is our house in the mountains! How rustic!" There are logs. The bottom half of the walls are logs. But I'll have a washer & dryer. And? I live at the top of a mountain. Well, 10 minutes up windy roads with horsies! It's very much one of those places where you have a real sense that nature could smack you down without a second thought. But apparently, it's not much of an issue (the girl I'm renting from's Asst Principal lives up there)
I'm hella excited. I think I need a new car, though, with the road up the mountain being what it is, so we're working on that.
