Life in LA, without the Internet

I am feeling incredibly cut-off from the world at the moment, due in large part to not haveing tv or Internet (the guy's coming Saturday. Whoot!). However, I have much news, and, while I am waiting to be able to do actual work, I thought I'd update about it.

I have an apartment. It's in Van Nuys. Studio, but with off-street parking (YAY!). As I said, Cable and Internet coming Saturday, as well as fridge. I miss cereal, and, therefore, milk. Saturday, right. I have a futon matterss (frame is coming on Tuesday), a side table, and a lamp in the category of furniture. And I bought a shower curtain. This is the first shower curtain that I got to pick out all by myself. It matches my towels and is not unattractive (the towels themselves were bought mostly for immediate recognizability in a dorm, and so would not be my first choice anymore). Simple joys.

Also, I have a 3-month, full-time temp gig at an insurance company in Glendale (Getting up to get here at 8? less than fun. Especially since I had trouble getting to sleep last night. It is conceivable that that was due to caffeine, but I'm not ready to fully accept that explanation. I'll adjust in a few days, and as I figure out what time I actually need to leave home, as I got here way early today) . I started today (thus the nothing to do. My computer and log on and crap haven't come down yet. I do, however, have a snazzy ID card, with photo.) This is in addition to my board-opping on weekends through the end of August. So, busy-ness is anticipated.

So, yeah. Not dead. I will re-appear in more permanent fashion over the weekend (SATURDAY!).
