Second try...
I'll post something in Beep Me, as well, but I thought I should put something, and more detail, here, it being my lj and all.
I am officially moving to Los Angeles. Within the next two weeks (by the 26th at the latest, though specific dates tbd).
East Coasters should not take this personally. I don't hate you. In fact I'm rather fond of several of you, and all but two whom I have met have been very nice. I just got a better offer from the LA-cabal--I mean: they drive cars out there and the weather's nice.
Seriously, though, LA was always higher on my personal preference list, but NYC looked much more workable. That margin is at least significantly reduced, so I will be off to LA! Over deserts! And mountains! And vast stretches of really boring agricultural areas! Good God do I need to start burning CDs.
So, that's my big news, which subsumes all little news, including my uneventful! day of air travel (Yes, it gets an !. It deserves it). I am home now, after two weeks of being elsewere. I'll sleep later (it's so not worth trying to get back on CDT). And, in approximately one week, I'll have my first "What the fuck was I thinking, thinking I could move to LA." episode. Feel free to start a pool.
