However, anybody know any good Wicked fic? I'll be looking, and posting anything worth reading I find, but it seems like there should be good stuff out there.

The book or the musical? Rather different universes.

There's some book fic at Yuletide (http://www.yuletidetreasure.org I think). It's mostly elphaba/glinda and was, I think, inspired by the musical in a lot of cases, so though some of it tries to use language like the book it feels like it springs from the musical storyline pretty regularly.

Yeah, I rather figured there'd be a lot of cross-polination. Ultimately, I like the Book-verse better, though. Up until she stops sleeping, and her actions become incomprehensible, it holds together much better, IMO.

I thought the book was fascinating, though it had some strange issues with style and flow. It was much more literary than the musical.

But the musical was much, much more fun.

Absultely more fun, and the book as written would not have made a good musical (opera, maybe), but, after the book, the world of the musical seemed so much smaller, and overly-optimistic to me.

I also have an unhealthy affection for some of the stuff they cut/changed (especially Nessa).

I do wish he had kept the green glasses thing for the Emerald City.
